The presenters, Ed.D students, address key questions prospective doctoral students ask. Authentic assignments are deconstructed and feedback/marking criteria are reviewed illustrating academic expectations. Explicit doctoral issues are raised ranging from program choice to time-commitment, alongside ‘tips from the battlefield’. Potential, current and post-doctoral academics are invited to this interactive session.
Aleya James is a General Studies Faculty member at Dubai Women’s College. She has extensive Middle East TESOL and General Education experience. She is a doctoral student at Bath University.
Nicole Shammas is a General Studies Faculty member at Dubai Women’s College. She has extensive TESOL/General Education experience in Korea and UAE. She is currently a doctoral student at USQ.
