The presenters will show how one activity, a discussion line, can be adapted to teach numerous skills and test student comprehension. They will also explain how the activity creates opportunities for corrective feedback and can be shortened or expanded to fit the teacher’s needs. Intended audience: new teachers.
Lauren Harold is a Language Specialist at the University of Pennsylvania’s English Language Programs. She has also taught at Temple University and abroad at KAIST in Daejeon, South Korea.
Alyssa Swanson is an Advising Specialist and lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s English Language Programs. She has also taught for Temple University, and abroad in London and Thessaloniki, Greece.
