The presenters, using a qualitative evaluation design, will demonstrate how a team of female Emirati students developed an understanding of themselves and the broader world as a result of an adventure and service project in Tanzania. Intended audience: teachers interested in Learning Abroad and Learning by Doing.
Ewa Gajer holds a Ph.D. in Australian Literature from the University of New England. She has published a bibliography of Australian Women Writers. She is currently teaching Intercultural Studies.
Brendan O’Connor has his M. Ed in TESL/Curriculum Studies from Mount St. Vincent University, in Canada. He has taught ESL/EFL in Korea, Syria, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
