Understanding Reading Miscues in Arabic and English
In oral reading, miscues refer to a reader’s deviations from the written text. These text deviations are not just random errors, but can be cued by grapho-phonemic, syntactic, and semantic knowledge that facilitates text meaning. This study investigates the similarities and differences across young readers’ miscues in Arabic and English.
